Tuesday 2 April, 2013 My 1st and LAST
I had just left Larry B's ??Sports Bar?? close to Cushions after experiencing the WORST BARMAID ever in my 35 years of owning or reviewing bars. I knew Cushions could not be as bad or worst. I was sort of correct and sort of wrong. Barmaid was Jessie. I asked about Happy Hour specials and she told me, but also said I was 5 minutes too late for them I ADMIRED THAT SHE WAS NOT GOING TO GIVE AWAY THE OWNER'S PROFITS AFTER HH.
I asked for what was on tap. she replied with the new day machine gun fire verbal list. I did see a brand I knew and asked for a small sample and A BUD DRAUGHT. I got the small sample right away and then 4 minutes passed before I saw Jessie again who disappeared through a door into what I can only believe is the kitchen.Upon reappearing , she looked at me as though it was the 1st time and said "Do you want a beer?"
I got a Bud draught and was going to ask questions about menu, music, pool tournaments etc, but she immediately went to the other end of the and began texting. There were 4 people at the bar including me. Each a POTENTIAL PROFIT MAKER FOR THE OWNER. I walked around and chatted with a group of Tournament Pool Players and learned the owners had let the place go in that Cue Balls were chipped, tables tops not replaced for players, etc.
I kept my eye on Jessie and now a new female bartender.
Jessie spent more and more time texting and chatting with the new bartender. But then she began scratching herself
Her back, her sides, her shoulders. If I had wanted food, I no longer wanted any. Absolutely incredible that within 100 yards of each other 2 places that could be making tons of money have such non descript non WOW making help.
