Doesn't honor its coupons. My husband & I stopped at Knights Ice Cream tonight (8/22) and planned to use our Westerville South coupon card. The card is valid through 8/31/10, and Knights is one of the participating companies. We were told at the check-out "My boss says we can't accept that." We probably would've saved $1.20, but bad word-of-mouth will lose them a lot more business than $1.20. Customer service clearly is not the focus of Knights Ice Cream, and we'll be visiting Graeters instead on our next ice cream outing.
Good ice cream...bad in-store marketing. Went to Knight's Ice Cream in Westerville last night (8/8/09). Used a 20% discount card sold by one of the Westerville school programs which says we can use the card once per visit at Knight's. The worker got out a marker and said, "My boss said I have to do this," as she drew a black line through the Knight's Ice Cream discount information so we can not use the discount on our next visit. (There was no restriction on the card as to how many times the card can be used.) This sent me a negative message - certainly not the message Knight's should be sending. That may have been my last trip to Knight's. While I do enjoy their ice cream, there are other quality ice cream options in Westerville.
Don't worry about getting this Knightstick near your mouth..
The small Knight's Ice Cream stand stayed the same for 40 odd years while Westerville grew up around it. The inside is cramped and a bit sloppy but it is designed to move people quickly when a line forms. Don't be too surprised if the young employees have the radio blaring while customers stand in line. There are several picnic tables in the parking lot to sit at and savor a selection.
There are 50 flavors with tastes such as mango, chocolate raspberry, amaretto cherry and Snickers. However, the time tested treat, surviving the decades and new owners, is the Knightstick. These are not just drumsticks--the ice cream is fresh with varied flavors including peanut butter cup, Oreo and mint chocolate chip. People have been known to buy these in six packs.
Perfect for the holidays.... ... or anytime. With the coolness and spice of Pumpkin and the icy-chill of Peppermint Stick, you can forget the traditional Warm Pumpkin Pie and Sticky Peppermint Sticks of the Holidays. These versions are already prepared and awaiting a home. These are a must to try!

No plastic in my shake, Thank You!.
My family went to Knight's Ice Cream a while back and ordered three chocolate malts. The lady proceded to make them in styrofoam cups on the shake machine. She punched a hole through one the cups. I told her I wanted a new shake. She said "I fix, I fix" and covered the hole with a piece of scotch tape. I said no I want a new cup and ice cream. She and another lady scraped the ice cream from the cup with the hole into another cup.
Needless to say we walked out with no malts! I do not recommend this place at all!
