Worst customer service.......EVER
by 1CR at Citysearch
I brought in two chainsaw chains to be sharpened. I dropped them off, and was told they would be done in a week.
I week and 4 days later, I drop buy to pick them up. They aren't back from their other facility yet. The employee asked "Did you get a call from us?" No - but the chains should have been finished a few days ago. "When they come in we always give you a call." Ok then.
I came back a couple of days later to learn they chains came back later in the evening, the last time I was there. I wasn't called like I was told I would be.
I approached the OWNER, explained the situation, and he just scratched his head and said, "This shouldn't have happened." Ya think? He made no attempt to work anything out with respect to my bill, or anything.
I was also there to purchase a lanyard for my flag, and got no help either.
That will be the last time I use Roush Hardware for my local mom and pop hardware store.
Much better than getting help at a large warehouse store

I've always had good service and advise from the employees. The very seldom do not have what I'm looking for. Asking questions of the staff usually gets good results. If you know what you need to do but are unsure of how to go about doing it, they will help you find what you need.
- Pros: Plentiful, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. A decent amount of variety.
- Cons: Prices seem high for some items but the assistance is well worth the extra.
Plenty of expert staff to help you with your project

I have been using Roush Hardware in Westerville as my main source of supplies and advice since moving to Westerville in 1977.
Here are the top 9 things I like about it:
1 - It is conveniently located at Schrock and State and there is parking right outside the door.
2 - When I come in, I am greeted by a receptionist who knows where everything is in the store and will also summons a staff member from that department.
3 - The staff knows their department and can answer questions, so I don't have to guess. They have told me how to install a ceiling fixture, how to repair my toilet, what stain to use for my deck and how to prepare it, etc.
4 - They also have a service desk in the back where I have gotten keys made, screens repaired, glass cut, etc.
5 - If I buy something heavy like topsoil, they load into my car for me.
6 - They have lots of loose screws, nails, and other items, like hardware stores used to have.
7 - I must mention the free popcorn.
8 - It is owned by the employees! Yes, those people in the store own it.
9 - There is a Starbucks and a Panera nearby so I can fortify myself with a cafe mocha before tackling my job.
- Pros: service, lots of loose items, parking, enough staff, knowledgeable
- Cons: can usually beat price at a big box store
Overpriced and condescending

Service was very condescending. I did not know exactly what I was looking for and was made to feel as though I should not have been asking questions. When I did find my item and purchased it, I compared it to my local "big box" home improvement store and the price I paid was 20% more!!! I tried to take the item back and was told I would be charged a "restocking fee." Be careful!!!
- Pros: Convenient
- Cons: Price, attitude and service not worth the convenience
