A low-key, friendly environment attracts plenty of families to this reliable chain. Kids in the big booths--often clutching free balloons and crayons--usually outnumber adults sitting at the bar. The menu offers filling American fare with no surprises, from mozzarella sticks and nachos to rollups and burgers. Entrees include steaks, fajitas and main dish salads. The calorie-conscious can select from a list of Weight Watchers-inspired dishes like mesquite chicken salad and grilled tilapia with mango salsa.

Half Price Appetizers and Kids. Applebees has the best happy hour from 3 to 7 every day - even weekends. Not only are the drinks half price, but the appetizers are, too. My kids love to go with me and order the half price appetizers. The staff is always friendly - we have never had a negative experience here and we go many times a month. It is a fun atmosphere for me as well as the kids. I recommend this Applebees highly!

When you go, ask for Marcus or Stephanie - they are both great
Go during Happy hour for an inexpensive meal, but plan on a wait to be seated, it does get crowded
