Editorial Review for Bogey Inn – by Terry Ward Libby

The Scene
The Bogey Inn is rumored to be Columbus' highest volume restaurant. (The tented patio alone seats 300.) It's located on the city's far northwest perimeter, near the Columbus Zoo where part-time TV star Jack Hannah serves as Director Emeritus.

Required Eating
The barbecued ribs are award winners, and deservedly so. Burgers, beer-battered cod and pizza are staples.

When to Go
The Bogey is extremely popular every year at the end of May, when the PGA Memorial Tournament is held at nearby Muirfield Village Golf Club. Assorted players and hangers-on can be found there, not to mention a celebrity or two. With live music, bocce ball and three volleyball courts, the Bogey is the biggest party in town.

Insider Tips

One of Columbus' Best

Nominated for best local tradition for proving that although Columbus bleeds scarlet and grey, it wears polo shirts and funny plaid pants.

Consolation Prize

If you can't get tickets to the Tournament (and if you want 'em, you might have to trade your first-born child for 'em), the next best thing is hanging out at the Bogey.

we went to the Bogey because a friend suggested it and it was close to our new home. By far the worst food and service I have ever experienced. Food took 45 minutes and there were only 4 or 5 tables. Server had no explanation, just said that the kitchen was backed up. Food was cold and everything tasted horrible. Cheese on pizza was spoiled, and coleslaw was sour. I don't know how they stay open. Asked to see manager and server said everything was free tonight but the manager was too busy.

Pros: none

Cons: horrible food and service, outdated decor

Food was terrible. My family was set for a night out and was very dissappointed in the quality of food for the price. Do not waste your time and money going to the Bogey. I'll never go back. I'm guessing this place will go out of business soon.

Pros: Plenty of parking

Cons: food terrible
