Editorial Review for Six Flags Wyandot Lake – by Bob Fitrakis

Overview
With its wonderful location right next to the Columbus Zoo, families spend whole vacations in the area. It's both a water and amusement park in one. A giant tide pool gives families a chance to relax, while a roller coaster, aquatic playground and tube rides satisfy those looking for something a little more active. It's the perfect spot to bring small thrill-seekers, but might disappoint bigger kids looking for breath-taking roller coasters.

Features

Christopher's (as in Columbus) Island is an artificial tropical paradise that features 99 water-drenching gadgets to douse intruders. Beware of the thousand-gallon water-air bombardment that occurs every few minutes. Body slides, shark attacks, raft rides and wave pools offer an array of wet options. To dry off, try the antique carousel, Ferris wheel or roller coaster. Keep in mind they're about as scary as Chris' island.

There is, thankfully, a swim diaper policy for diaper-dependent persons and they can be purchased on-site.

User Reviews for Six Flags Wyandot Lake

4 Star Rating: Recommended

08/08/2004 Posted by ralph_s

As a water park, this one compares favorably, with its "creek," tide pool, multiple water slides, and Christopher's Island. The bumper cars have been upgraded, and now have inner tubes around them, which greatly reduces the "bump." On August 8, 2004, the wooden roller coaster was running only one car, and two seats in it were inoperable. It took several times longer to load and unload the Ferris wheel than it did to actually ride it, and they were only filling every other car (total of 8 cars). The price is reasonable, and season tickets are good at any Six Flags park. Discount tickets are available locally. If you want to do water things, this is the place. If you want to ride big roller coasters, you'll have to go elsewhere.

Pros: ample parking, many ways to get wet, little kid friendly

Cons: , maintenance issues
