Amazing, Authentic Chicago-style Hot Dogs!. Ever since my last trip to Chicago I have been longing for an authentic Chicago-Style hot dogs. Ever since my recent change of jobs I have driven past Wholly Joe's but never thought about it until doing a search for cheap eats on Citysearch and read about it. Went there for the first time and plan on going back soon. The employees were friendly and the service was fast. The only complaint I have is that the relish is not neon green, anyone who has been to Chicago knows what I mean. If you are looking for good food, fast service and a friendly environment then Wholly Joe's is the place for you.

Recommended for one thing only - Chicago Style Pizza. I have tried the burgers, the dogs, the fires and the rings. The only thing that tastes even remotely fresh is the Chicago style pizza, which takes them 45 minutes to make. The fries and the rings !! Forget about them, they pour them out of a huge plastic bag frozen and quick fry them. Tastes like Mom's Or-Ida's off the cookie sheet ... You all know what I'm talking about.... I'm sure your mom made them too. Uuuch....Burgers... Uuuch..not their area of expertise... Dogs... well.. the're beef dogs so better than some, but you can get these at Giant Eagle and cook them on the grill better.

But the deep dish Pizza... now that's a good one... Try it with pep and sausage and a bottle of Chianti to match the spice... Umm wonderful.. and the cheese is the real deal... Real mozza !!! And some of the best I've tried in Columbus. So.. that's the only thing I can recommend...

Great Hot Dogs and italian beef, pizza if you have the time. Good grub!! That simple, very decent meal for the dollar. Why not support a local family business instead of McPuke or another chain. The food is excellent and they have a diverse menu that you don't see anywhere else! The kids love it and so do I. They could use more locations,

AUTHENTIC Chicago Dog-are we in Wrigley Field!. We lived outside Chicago for years and love Chicago Style Hot Dogs. They are really different at first bite... we had no basis for this experience! We missed them until we found Wholly Joes! Now we go a distance to enjoy them. If you've never had one, try it with or without Sport Peppers. DO NOT TRY TO RE-DRESS THESE DOGS WITH CONEY SAUCE OR YOU'LL SCREW UP THE TASTE. Do keep an open mind because it is not what you expect. If you don't like the first one, give it another try... some kids hate pizza the first time too. You could acquire a taste for them. The fries are great!. I'm told the Italian Beef is the same, but I love the dogs and have not stuffed myself with one yet. If the rest of the menu is as good the dogs and fries, you can't go wrong!

Not the worst I've had. I've been here a few times now and really can't complain too much. They do sometimes take a little too long to get your order done though. I've tried several items and nothing jumps out as to-die-for. The chili dogs are pretty average. The burger's taste equals that of a Burger King at best. However, the fries were decent. Would I recommend this place? Only if you're tired of eating at the same handful of restaurants.

This is good?. This was the worst burger I've had the displeasure of eating in some time. The fries and rings were frozen and tasted as if they'd been fried in grease way past its best days. Iced tea was the "bagged" kind so popular in cafeterias now.

I was with friends who had a polish and a beef sandwich which they claimed to have liked. Regardless, avoid the awful burger.

Worth the drive!. We love Wholly Joe's! Even though I prefer them sans cucumber, the hot dogs are fantastic (I especially like the kosher beef dogs) The beef sandwiches are delicious too, and the au jus tastes home-made, unlike that at other places we've been to. They also have an extensive range of sodas - Coke and Pepsi and loads more. I agree that it would be great if there were other locations. It's a bit of a drive from here in Hilliard, but it's guarenteed to be a great meal that's easy on the wallet.
