Best Gyros in Columbus!

The gyros are phenomenal! I've tasted many around Ohio, but I must say these are one of the best I've had. The service is not the greatest, but it's ok. It's kind of nice that they don't update or modernize the dining room. I go to enough chain restaurants that I can see all the modern furnishings I want. I like the home-style, small-town atmosphere.

Best Home-made Food

I have gone to Chef's House every Sunday with my family for the past 16 years. They have the best homemade food in town! My kids even enjoy going there. There is usually no waiting to be seated and their service is great. We started going there in the mornings for breakfast but we have also tried their lunch and dinner which was also very good. I think that their food is delicious and very affordable. The interior of the restaurant makes you feel like you are at home. The owner is there everyday and she even has her daughter and son working there, so when they say that it is family owned and operated they really mean it. The waitresses are very friendly and some of them have even been there for 16 years and know everyone in my family by name. I think that everyone should go.

We'd been living in Hilliard for well over a year before we somewhat nervously decided to check out Chef's House. From the outside, it really does not look anything special at all. Even when you venture inside, it still doesn't look very appealing. The first couple of times we went, the servers were quite gruff and unfriendly. However, now that we go pretty much every week, the ladies could not be nicer and more attentive. CH's breakfasts are EXCELLENT value for money. Husband always has the gut-busting Big Man breakfast, which keeps him going all day. I'm certain that with a lick of paint, some nice pictures and properly (not hand-written) printed notices and signs, CH would be much more appealing. However, having said that, right now there is never a wait to be seated, and food is brought out very quickly. And I wouldn't want that to change!
