Decent buffet. alright so me and my friends have ben there a couple times and the food is great except for the rice and service i had to embarass the waiter for him to refill my drink lol but the white rice is always dried out
Food poisening. I and my family ate here Saturday 15 September 2008, we all had something different, I thought all the previous reviews were right on, but Sunday morning my eight year old daughter started getting sick, ran a low grade fever with stomach cramps. YES YOU GOT IT ?FOOD POISENING? she is still sick today. We will never eat there again.
Average on All Levels. Your normal, basic Chinese buffet - no real standout dishes, and be careful if you go to the buffet during slow times (between lunch and dinner rush, after dinner rush), as they don't replace the food with fresh (or any, if something is empty) during those times, and what is there gets rather crusty. If you go in with fairly low expectations for the buffet, you won't be disappointed. Their take-out, however, is really solid. As long as you're ordering it fresh to go, the food is pretty good.
fungus on my mango pastry. We've been going to Asian Star Chinese buffet for a few times now and they offer ok food for the price. But last Sunday was an eye opener. I went to the dessert counter and found fungus infected mango pastry. Asked the staff to replace it. They changed it and I couldnt believe my eyes when the replaced one too has fungus staring back at me. I would think the least they could do after being notified by a customer was to make sure everything was right the second time round. Speaks volumes about the condition of their kitchen and also the attitude. Never goin to this place again !
trough. I've lived in columbus for about 10 years now, and when I first moved here this place was awesome. The food was good, the prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was nice. The only thing that remains after 10 years is the price. I can't believe people are giving this positive reviews. The food here is absolutely appalling now. I went there for the last time the other day and will never go again. The restaurant was filled to the max with large groups of mexicans, very loud and annoying. The food was just unbelievably bad. I think every piece of chicken in the general tso's chicken had either gristle or massive amounts of fat in it. DO NOT GO HERE unless you're really hungry and broke.
YUM!!!. Love it. The food is so good. Delicious and so cheap. It is consistantly good and the people who work there are very polite.
Great Food for the Money. The decor is nothing to speak of, but the food at this hidden surprise is just that...a pleasant surprise! Everything we tasted was better than expected (I recommend the dim sum and sesame chicken), and the cost is very reasonable. A great place to go when you want variety and a filling meal or with a group. Highly Recommend!
Buffet at its Best.
If you are looking for a place to get a lunch buffet, you can't really go wrong with Asian Star. The food isn't going to win any awards but the selection is vast and everything is tasty enough. I would recommend the General Tso's or the Honey Chicken.
Ay $5.99 including drink, you aren't going to go home broke or hungry.
