Now Worth a Try.
With 20+ years of retail experience, I can now recommend this location. Last year when I shopped, staff were not smiling, were short & mean to customers, They must have had a major shakeup for their attitudes are now friendly and helpful. The basket I took in yielded around $25 w/ about 1/4 rejected. That's O.K. with me as I already had a yard sale and with twins, time is at a premium!
I appreciate the selection & want to help other moms shop OUAC for good quality, gently used kids clothes. And now they seem to appreciate you, their customers!
Don't Waste your TIme. Don't waste your time if you are selling back items. The place is crazy and zoo-loke. Cust serv in store is terrible. They talk 2 u like they are robots. Place it here, fill this out, come back, blah, blah. They accepted 90% of my teacher type educ toys, games, puzzles. They offered me 20 for about 3 boxes. Less than 1.00 per item. If they sell it for 4.00, they will give you about 75 cents. If you are looking to make some money back on your gently used items, you won't. U will be humiliated. The store is well organized, most things are nice quality if you are shopping, but NOT all. You can write off on your tax return and save more$. Just get a receipt!
I got $8 for 12 items - Don't waste your time.. I've tried twice to sell my kids clothes and both times I only received less than a $1 per item. The customer service wasn't very friendly. I won't waste my time if I'm only getting less than a $1 per item. I plan to give my things to Goodwill instead.
More poor customer service and rude staff. I recently visited the Dublin "Once Upon A Child". I took a basket full of very nice clothes and shoes. I returned only to find that my "unacceptables" and my clothes basket had been donated without my knowledge. They then proceeded to tell me they could not give cash to me because I did not return within 24 hours to collect. Instead they gave me a "gift card". They could not care less that I was upset and they said someone tried to contact me via phone to remind me that I had to pick up my "unacceptables". This simply was not true as there was no message on my voicemail, nor did their number show up on my caller ID. They were rude to me and could not care less that I was upset. My clothes basket cost more than the pathetic $5.00 gift card. I made it clear to the manager that I would NOT be back. This is not the first undesirable experience I have had there and I am finished with them!!!! I am looking in to contacting their corporate to file a complaint. They probably won't care either.
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. This recycling shop for "kids' stuff with previous experience" buys and sells gently used children's clothing, equipment and furniture.
Worst customer service I have ever had!. Once Upon A Child may have great items for customers to buy, but don't plan on receiving a friendly attitude or helpful service when you drop off items to sell. I was appalled at the way the employees at the Dublin, Frantz Rd. store treated me when I came in with many of my useful infant and toddler items. They were rude and ungrateful from the time I entered the store. I made multiple trips to and from my car lugging in many items, and no one even offered to give me any assistance. In fact, other CUSTOMERS were more willing to help me carry in items and hold the door than were the employees behind the counter. I was told, very bluntly, that I had to put together the swing I brought in or else they wouldn't be able to sell it. Again, no one offered to help, instead I was expected to do all the work. How is a business who receives their merchandise from customers, and makes money off of them, expects the customer to prepare the items for the store to sell. It almost felt like I supposed to be doing them the favors. It was a complete waste of my time and effort, especially since I was only offered $2.22 for all that I brought in! From now on I plan to drop off my gently used clothing and baby items to the Salvation Army. At least I will be welcomed by friendly and helpful volunteers who are grateful to have my donations.
great stuff & even better prices!.
I absolutely LOVE Once Upon A Child stores, and this is one of the better locations. My kids grow so fast and they refuse to wear so many things that I buy, I've decided used is the only intelligent way to go. This place has a very good selection of clean, used-but-great-looking kids clothes, shoes, and accessories - mostly the good name brands (Gap Kids, OshKosh, The Place, Gymboree, etc... )
They also have a nice selection of toys, books, music, videos, and kids furniture, plus car seats and other baby items.
You can try to sell some of your children's outgrown items, but they are very picky about what they will take.
Also be sure to try the other related stores - Plato's Closet for teens, Once Upon a Mom for maternity, and New Uses General Store for household items.
