Had a great time.
We got to the hotel earlier than expected- About three hours earlier than check in. We were a bit concerned this could be an issue, but the little gal at the front desk was awesome and had us in a room within minutes. Our room was clean and very nice. The view of the river rocked- especially in the morning! The bonus was the KILLER cookies. The only negative that I can really speak of was the beyond slow service of the kitchen and also in the dining room. The food is- well- typical hotel food. Not worth the money. It took about a half an hour to get a pot of coffee up to our room. When we ate in the dining room for breakfast, there was no one else in there and it took about 40 minute to get an omelet. Geesh! I thought maybe they were waiting for a hen to lay the egg. I guess it would be guaranteed fresh if they did, eh? Over all, we had a great time and was treated well. Definitely a great place to stay... Just go out for food. ;)
Luxury beds and deluxe amenities help business folks and families sleep well at this comfortable mid-level chain.. In Short Warm chocolate chip cookies greet every guest at this Hilton-owned hotel, a friendly touch that fits in with the hotel's business-casual attitude. Another way Doubletree helps its guests relax is the Sweet Dreams bed, which features a pillow-top mattress, high thread-count linens, down comforters and lots of jumbo pillows. Amenities also include high-speed Internet access, in-room coffeemaker and complimentary newspaper; properties also typically feature a swimming pool, a fitness center and a range of meeting facilities.
Beware of this Doubletree!.
Beware the room you reserve online will NOT be the one you are offered when you arrive, confirmation number or not... We reserved 4 river view suites and 1 cityside view suite online in April 2007. When we arrived in July 2007, we were told those rooms were unavailable, they had given them to others for anywhere from $400-$800 (~$200-$600 more than thier advertised price). We spoke with the front desk, the manager, Pam, attempted to contact Dale Jordan, the GM, no response from him. Bottom line, beware of this particular Doubletree, I've stayed at others with no issues, but this one is to be avoided. Classic Bait and switch tactics...
Loved the delicious chocolate chip cookies - taste even better after a long trip! Beautifully decorated lounge and suites. Suite really makes you feel at home with the enclosed bedroom and homey living room set up. Extremely helpful staff. Delicious room service too. Would've appreciated free parking.
