Tips for Five Guys Burgers & Fries

Best Burger Around Campus. I've been pleased at all Five Guys locations, and this one was no exception. Great burgers, good service. Great prices.

Average. This is their newest store, and it is very clean. Seating is standard tables w/ hard chairs...no booths here. The atmosphere is very noisy. With the cooking stations out in the open, and the cashiers yelling "Two in the door!" every time customers walk in...rather nerving. They also have bulk peanuts out in the open to munch on while you wait.

The menu is limited to burgers, hot dogs, and fries...nothing else. You can get all the regular toppings, including cheese and bacon.

This is a "fast food" joint...no wait staff comes from behind the counter...you wait for your food, and one of the staff calls your order number when its ready. Drinks are self served as well.

The assembly line cooking/assembly process is out in the open for all to see, which is nice, but as mentioned, noisy. There are no provisions to get your burger cooked the way you want...all burgers are cooked well done. Also, all "regular" burgers are double patty, and you can order a single patty burger (called the small), but the single patty is too small anyway,so really, even though its a double, it about the size of a standard 1/4 lb burger anyway.

The french fries are greasy, but that's part of their trademark...when you order a burger and fries, you get half your fries in a container, and they just dump the other half into the bag all over. This quickly creates grease spots through the bag. I'm not sure Id want to set a grease soaked bag on my car seats on a to go order.

I also find the cost a little pricey. $5.83 for just a regular cheese burger seems a little steep to me. That's one cent off getting 6 items off of Wendy's $.99 value menu.

Both burger and fries are good, but not great. Nothing really pops out, but like I said, its good eats, and as far as fast food goes, its at the top for burgers...I will most likely return, but not as often because of the price.
