I truly truly truly wished the service matched the décor of the salon. The service is horrible when the décor is fabulous. Please treat your new customers better!! This is specifically for stylist Chris- I can not comment on the others.

Now since I have moved to LA I absolutely miss going to Strand Cafe. Makeup Bar parties were the best. I can not find a stylist out here that is on the same level. The shop gives you a very unique feel. The location is amazing being close to the freeways whether is is 670, 71 or 315. It is also close to OSU campus Perfect location. Staff is diverse. Why would you go anywhere else.

I recently had a "walk-in" appointment at the Strand Cafe Ultra Salon. I'm a new Short North resident and decided to get pampered in my new neighborhood! Wow what a treat it was. The ladies of this salon were so friendly and made me feel right at home. I got my hair and nails done (Chris on hair-Raven on nails) and I'll definitely be back....soon! The atmosphere was artsy yet elegant and immaculate in every way! I can't recommend this salon enough. I'm so lucky to live so close to a true gem!

Best Natural Hair Stylist in Columbus. Chris is the best Natural Hair stylist in Columbus. I have natural hair and search high and low for 5 years to find the perfect stylist. Finally, I found Chris, my Beauty Savior. I'm very happy to have her as a stylist. For all the new residents and peole who have lived in Columbus all there lives but don't know where to go to get there hair done;Come to Strand Cafe. The atomsphere is cool, fun and relaxing. Also, there is a aethestician on staff and an incredibly talented nail tech (Raven). These women love what they do and you will too!

The Best Salon in Columbus!!. I love Stand Cafe! I get my hair and nails done regularly and cant imagine going anywhere else. Christina is very knowledgeable when it comes to all hair types and textures and is always giving the best treatment for each client. I have had natural hair styles like afros and twists...colors from brown and blonde to pink....weaves of all kinds and now a trendy relaxed hair cut. I cannot say enough about how awesome this place is:)

Somewhat agree with the comments. The first person to rate this salon is pretty pathetic. It's obvious they did not go to the salon and get a cut by Chris, because they would clearly know that Chris is short for Christina who is a female! I agree with the staff being rude, especially the owner Chris. She does not speak when you walk in and/or leave, they are loud and gossipy. I only go for the nail tech Raven who is amazing! She sits in the back and is the best nail tech I have ever been too. I honestly wish she would find another salon to work at, because it would make my nail appointment more pleasant.

Also very disappointed. I totally agree with the other ladies who gave low ratings. I was VERY disappointed with the service here. The stylists just stand around and gossip to each other or talk on their phones while MULTIPLE people are waiting to get their hair done. I was waiting for an unnecessarily long time. I could tell that the other people waiting were also getting very irritated. It wasn't even like the stylists were taking care of other clients while they were talking. They were just chillin like they could care less that 3 people were waiting to do their hair. So unprofessional. Don't be fooled by the nice website and advertisements.

I will never come here again.

Very Disappointing. I purchased a groupon for this salon and was very dissatisfied with everything from the customer service to the cleanliness. I wasn't able to relax during my facial, as the room was surrounded by laughing and yelling and the esthetician's phone was vibrating throughout. The towels used were dirty from makeup and hair and the whole experience felt unhygienic.

My Groupon was for $60 and my facial came to $50. The one nail tech who had agreed to do to the pedicures with the Groupon wasn't available and I was forced to ferfeit the remaining $10.

At the end of the day, a rude staff, dirty environment and a so-so service.

WORST SALON ON THIS PLANET!!. As my headline says, this was the worst salon I have ever been to in my life!

The "stylists" were rude, not welcoming, loud, obnoxious, and had no consideration for any of their customers' time!

I kept getting annoyed when my stylist kept checking and talking on her phone!

Unfortunately for me, I had bought this Groupon so I didn't know better. I had called twice to make an appointment before I finally got one and it wasn't because there was no available appointments, it was because these women are too lazy to work. Each time I was on the phone, I was waiting for 10 mins while these women kept screaming and laughing to each other on the phone instead of finding me a time to come in!

My appointment was at 4pm, it began at 410. This "stylist" could not understand what a V cut with medium length layers meant! Ummm okay where did you go to school??

After shampooing my hair and scratching the skin off of my scalp, and not getting all of the conditioner out of my hair, she half-assed the cut job. Being too lazy to blowdry, she sat me under the dryer machine for 20 minutes while she began working on other women. Checking on me again finally, she realized my hair still wasn't dry! Uhhh yaaaa, I have NORMAL hair that's long!

After the 2nd dryer session as she began working on ANOTHER woman, I just left! It was 520 pm at this time! If I would have stayed it would have been around 6 maybe that I would have finally been done! Ummm 2 hours for a haircut?!?!

Half of the women were just sitting around, and I felt really bad for 2 other women who came in and were waiting for a long time! I believe one just walked out.

It wasn't a bad day in the salon! That's how they always are!!

I don't think they know how to handle any hair that's not like their own.

Biggest fail of customer service and a business I have ever seen!

Please save yourself the trouble of coming here! There are plentyyyy of competent salons in this city! Your hair and body are not things to experiment with!

Needless to say I'll never be going back!
