From Paris to Mexico, Bolivia to Switzerland, I have not encoutered a dessert shop equal to Pistachio in quality and service. Elegant interior decor, friendly staff, and great location enrich the customer experience, but in the end it's all secondary to the out-of-this-world flavor you'll encounter here. Every item, from your classic shortbread cookies to your exotic yuzu-fruit chiboust, balances the perfect amount of butter, sugar, and other standard ingredients - only to be enriched by an unexpected lavendar infusion, bittersweet chocolate dusting, or carmelized fruit topping. Servers are friendly, helpful, and never look down at you for not knowing how to pronounce the names of their items! I always go here when I need a gift for a special occasion - and you can find an item for any budget. Being a penny-pincher, I'm naturally disinclined to spend $6 on a mini-cheesecake, but the flavors are so full that you'll feel like you got 10x what you paid for! I'm not sure, but I'd guess that the pastry chefs have been trained in the European tradition. I miss their Short North location, but it's worth the drive to German Village to get my fix. If it's your first time, I highly recommend anything involving a combination of cream and fruit; it's their strength. The bottom line: so tasty, I would eat it off the floor of a Coney Island Port-O-Let!
Pros: Can't eat it without smiling
Cons: You'll want to eat this stuff for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But that wouldn't be very healthy, would it?

Pistacio moved to German Village about a year ago. not sure of the address, but they are sorely missed in the short north.
