Otis does a fantastic job! I used to go to Sport Clips exclusively, but the service and quality has gone downhill. After one stop to see Otis, I won't see anyone else. He is warm, welcoming and professional. His shop isn't anything special, but he gives you a top notch haircut for $12. Cash only, so come prepared.
Great location. It has a older atmosphere but I'm only 19 and when I walked in he offered me drinks and was polite as someone could be. After the fact I relized I didn't have cash on me and he let me go with a free haircut only stating "just pay me later". I'll definitely be going there from now on. He is very talented
I only just recently discovered
Johnson's Barber Shop after moving down to the Worthington area last year and I wish I could have stumbled across this hidden gem sooner than I did.
Otis runs the place alone but have no fear, there is little to no wait. I've walked in and sat straight in the chair on my visits so far. Expect to be greeted by name and with a handshake upon arrival and exit. To top off the great cut/trim, he also gives you a classic straight razor shave around the ears and neck, complete with warm shaving cream and a warm towel.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday: 9-7
Thursday and Sunday: Closed
If you're looking for a classic man's barber shop, this is definitely the place to go for a cheap ($12), relaxing, and awesome cut.
Want a shave?.
I love a traditional, manly barber shop, and this place fits all of my criteria. The only barber is an older gentleman who provides good conversation and a good haircut. Complimentary with all haircuts, Otis also shaves around the neckline and over the ears at the end of the haircut.
Otis also provides a face shave for the low, low price of $12 (same as haircut). He drapes the cape over your chest then lies you back in the chair so that you can lay back on the headrest. He applies copious shaving cream, followed by hot steam towels. After a thorough shave, he repeats the hot towels, outlines the haircut with a shave, and shakes your hand. It is truly something to experience if you want to relax for 20 to 30 minutes.
He doesn't take appoinments, but the wait is never too long. The shop is located on Lincoln between Indianola and Sinclair on the north side of the road. You can't miss it.
