Tips for Smokey Bones

September 22, 2012

*****PICKERINGTON/ REYNOLDSBURG********it truly was.... we went and ordered a 2 people eat for 24.99 and they could manage to grill a steak at a temperature of Medium rare. and the sirloin was tougher than my leather shoes(not joking at all because the steak knives would not cut through it) and they thought it would be a great idea to remove the steak hike up the cost of the rest of the HORRIBLE meal and end up charging us more than if we would have been charged. The stupid manager of the so called restaurant decided to prance over to our table like she was going to get away with it. needless to say she said she agreed with us that it didn't make sense. Stupid broad finally decided that she had better comp the horrible meal. by the way they also fry the "kettle chips" in with the doughnuts so you get a soggy sweet but not good flaccid potato round, the salad wasn't too bad except i had one huge leaf about 3/4 the size of my salad bowl that tasted really dirty. There were 2 things that were exceptable if not good: the desert pear tea and our waiter. the district/regional manager will be getting a call from me. I will never ever step foot in another smoky bones again. I remeber them being horrible on 161 and easton. would like to say -10 for all of the catagories. BUYER BEWARE!!! I also felt sick after taking a couple of bites of the food i did actually get.

Don't eat here,

sick patron

Excellent BBQ!. I am a recent transplant from Kansas, and enjoy good BBQ. I had a horrific experience at the Hickory House in Reynoldsburg, and another experienced reviewer pointed me to Smokey Bones. Great advice! True BBQ pork, brisket, and ribs to die for! The decor is cool, and the have a bunch of large screen TVs that show trivia and music videos. The service was also top notch, and they keep four different kinds of BBQ sauce right on the table that are geographically correct, so you can choose what you want, or mix and match. We will be returning to this fine one-of-a-kind restaurant very soon, thanks Cris.

Just Average. We decided to try something different, besides our normal place in Reynoldsburg. The Bar-Que was good, but everything else below average. The service was very poor, the hostess not friendly, and throughout our dinning experience, we didn't even see or feel the presents of a manger. I had the smoke chicken wings, good (Actually really good), my husband had ribs and will not make that decision again. (Very dry, no taste, and just not good)!!! Love the building/decor, but everything else is not for me. We will not be back, but give it a try yourself.

Good stuff!. Excellent authentic smoked BBQ. Wide variety on the menu. The smoked chicken wings are the best. Nice bar with lots of TVs, and the wait staff has always been top notch. It is a little on the pricey side though, but I suppose you get what you pay for...Ill being going back for the great ribs!

Decent BBQ. The food and prices are good but, for a BBQ FANATIC, it's not exceptional by any means. If you are going with friends to hang and watch a game or something then it's a pretty cool atmosphere but if you are looking for a low-key place you may be disappointed. Overall, worth a try.

Mountain-lodge decor and slow-cooked meats draw barbecue lovers and sports fans to this woodsy chain restaurant.. In Short
Rustic accents like logs, lanterns and fieldstone may adorn the exterior, but inside, it's all about ceiling-mounted TVs for fans who want sports with their spicy food. A large bar with a giant television dominates, while flanking wooden booths come with audio selectors and easy views of nearby screens. Sundry meats are cooked in-house over hickory wood: pulled pork (hand-pulled daily), baby back ribs, barbecued chicken, smoked beef brisket and various combination platters.

Cool place! Good Ribs. Have been to SB several times. Each time has been top-notch. Several TV screens to watch, and well-informed waitstaff make this place easy to hang out in. The after-dinner donuts are to die for. Order them. You won't be sorry!

Unique Experience. I was recommended by a family member to give Smokey Bones a try when visiting Columbus. My experience was definately worth while. The setup of Smokey Bones was very unique. It had a nice log cabin feel to it. The service was very good, and food was out comparitively quick. The ribs were excellent, and they are in my top five favorite ribs. The waitstaff was very good, and we were seated very quickly. Though it can be very busy. Sports games are usually on the various television sets throughout Smokey Bones.
