Nice and friendly but needs a scrubbin'.
I love to go to Cuppa Joe to read or meet with friends or clients. If my people know the joint it's perfect. If it's an upscale client I take them up the road to Crimson Cup, it's just cleaner.
The coffee in Clintonville is stellar and the drinks at MoJoe on the Cap are always good too.
Cup O Joe Clintonville.
It's a very nice place, very friendly with a loyal base of regular customers. You can leave you laptop on the table while you use the restroom because you know who's in there and we look out for each other. Speaking of laptops, good luck, they have the most atrocious wireless network I've ever seen in a public wi fi location. It never seems to be normal, it's down more often than not. I just don't understand it.
It fills up quickly some days when a single customer pushes two tables together hogging what could be used for two customers. Other than that, it's a great place. I wish employees would police the table hogs a little more, that gets frustrating. The coffee is good, usually several flavors and a wide variety of desserts and food options are available.
This homegrown chain of addictively cozy coffeehouses has prevented Starbucks from cornering the Columbus java market..
The Scene
Cup O' Joe has four welcoming havens in German Village, Bexley, Clintonville and on campus. Each one draws scads of book-wielding students, intimate chatters and people with laptops; decor tends to consist of handsome dark-wood tones and warm lighting, with a mix of tables, comfortable upholstered chairs and booths. While all four have outdoor patios that are open in the temperate seasons, the campus and Clintonville locations are warmed-up with working fireplaces in the winter
The Food
Locally roasted coffee by Stauf's is the staple beverage; at least three blends are brewed daily, while dozens of others are available for purchase. Sandwiches and salads provided by downtown lunch outfit Zuppa are generally available, but they tend to be somewhat bland and under-seasoned. Better to stick to tastier selections of quiche and soup, or stop by for dessert; display cases are dominated by rich cheesecake, pastry, biscotti and chocolate confections that rarely disappoint.
