Excellent value & location for lunch near downtown Columbus. Bread & Better was my favorite spot for lunch when I lived and worked in Columbus, Ohio. Their salads, sandwiches, and fresh, hot, dinner rolls are to die for ... not to mention the homestyle desserts and the down-home-Southern-style Soul Food specials. Owner Karen Whitson often works onsite, when not on catering jobs, and the entire staff is friendly & welcoming. Bread & Better has a small, intimate feel, yet is very close to the center of downtown Columbus, and the regular guests are as fun and friendly as the staff. I wholeheartedly recommend Bread & Better -- as I frequenly remind all my friends and acquaintances -- and I personally recommend the Nuts & Bolts salad (with roll!) or Smothered Chicken, and fruit cobbler!

best desserts ever!. Having lunch at Bread and Better was wonderful. It is small and bright and the food is unique and interesting. I have not had better desserts anywhere else in this city. My favorite is yellow cake and even thought this sounds boring its just amazing. The only thing I dislike about this little place is that they are not open more. With a 9-5 job on the other side of columbus I never have time to go.

This east-end eatery serves buttery, flaky rolls that are better than grandma's.. In Short
Located in the not-yet-trendy Market Exchange District on the east side of town, this light and airy breakfast and lunch spot can comfortably accommodate parties of two or four (six is a squeeze). The famous rolls are served with all soup and salad orders--if you're nice, you might get two--and do double-duty as sandwich bread. Service can be slow, so choose takeout if time is an issue. Desert selections change daily.
