A home away from home. Smith and Wollensky represents the New York atmosphere to perfection. The staff is nothing but welcoming and management is on their toes catering to your every need. The food is large and flavorful with awesome steaks that are dry-aged and butchered in-house, fresh seafood and desserts that are beyond heaven, make this restaurant the place to be in Columbus. Also, S&W has a great brunch and lunch special.

Was a Perfect Night. I have not had a steak, this perfect, since I was out in Kansas. They let the flavor, of the steak, speak for its self. The tuna steak that my wife had was equally perfect. They treated us like we were the most important of people. Having been to some of the Camron Mitchell Restaurants, we did not have to go to McDonalds this time to become full.

Graduation Present. When our son graduated from OSU we gave him the choice of any restaurant in Columbus to celebrate his achievement. He selected Smith & Wollensky. There were five of us and we all had superb food and service. The wine selection was outstanding and we enjoyed several very fine bottles. For a special occasion, we would highly recommend this restaurant.

None Better. The manager told me that all the beef is dry aged and butchered in house. They make their own desserts and most breads. They even have 5 sommeliers working in the restaurant to talk about their extensive wine list.The entire staff was very knowledgeable and helped w/ recommendations w/out being promted. The bar scene is always awesome. They have a huge specialty drink list. I like that they have put up a tent with a heater and tables to accomodate those who crave a quick smoke. I have eaten at all the other steak houses in town and hands down this one slays them. I do a lot of traveling and knowing that when I get off a plane that this restaurant is open until 2am serving a full menu is great. I have closed numerous deals w/ clients at this impressive restuarant. Can't wait to go back!

Boring but competant. Perhaps I expected too much. The steaks were good, the side dishes nearly flavorless and truly boring (whipped potatoes and spinach, the only two our server recommended). Wine list (as expected) good, but extremely pricey. House salad dressing is dreadful, tastes bottled. Service is excellent. Still, we won't go back, as Columbus does have a Ruth's Chris and even Hyde Park were everything is excellent.

EXCELLENT. Smith and Wollensky, unlike what other reviewers posted, offers the best service in Columbus. The servers are well-versed in their profession and offer what is truly a wonderful replica of New York style dining. If you can't deal with a charmingly gruff yet very professional waitstaff, i'd recommend staying in the Midwest...or at least out of this restaurant.

great food bad service. food is WONDERFUL.. but the service is terrible. atmosphere is fun. It is expensive but the food is worth it and comparable to other similar steakhouses. food is all a la carte. it really stinks that the service is so bad because EVERYTHING else about it is great. our dinner for 2 is usually $80-100 including tip ( without drinks)

I miss New York!. Great bar scene on Thursday nights! The whole restaurant reminds me of when I lived in NYC!! It is so good.
