Editorial Review for Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground – by Gayot.com

The Scene
Since its inception 25 years ago, the grounds have grown tall pines and has swelled naturally with lush forest. The serenity offers a welcome retreat for harried theme-park visitors. A true outdoors adventure it's not, with air-conditioned "comfort stations," three restaurants and other urban comforts. Nevertheless, wild animals are often spotted and numerous recreational activities typical of the great outdoors are offered.

The Details
Diehard campers can pitch their tents next to a charcoal grill and picnic table. Partial hook-up sites include water and electric, full hook-up adds a sewer, and "preferred" sites add cable and a convenient location. Those who cringe at roughing it can rest easy in a fully appointed cabin. Among amenities and recreation are two pools, horseback riding, fishing and watercraft rentals. Children can enjoy two arcades, pony rides, hayrides, a petting farm and the Campfire Program.
