The Scene
Several generations of the DeMonye's family have made this east-side greenhouse shine. Opened in 1929, it retains a welcoming, small-town feel, replete with little red wagons that you can pull around to collect your plants and supplies.
The Goods
For deals on perennials and annuals, this place is tough to beat. Every April, DeMoyne's offers a series of weekend-long quarter-a-plant sales on petunias, geraniums and other perennials. (Call ahead for details.) Every July, it holds a large half-price sale on annuals. When they aren't selling bargain blossoms, custom potting is DeMoyne's specialty. There is a selection of pretty pre-potted containers and lush hanging baskets, but many bring in their own and seek the recommendations of the greenhouse staff.
