A Clintonville institution moved down the street and became an upscale market..
The Scene
After many years at an intimate location near Morse Road, Weiland's moved south. By taking over the former Murray's Village Market, Weiland's broadened its product line. Once Weiland's Fine Meats, it's now Weiland's Gourmet Market.
The Goods
Weiland's has several aisles of produce and other staple groceries, as well as a decent beer and wine selection. Unlike larger chain groceries, it has a wide variety of gourmet items, from pineapple salsa to gourmet wafer cookies to "Latin lemonaise." Gourmet or not, this is Clintonville's ultimate meat market. The knowledgeable staff can instruct you in the ways of excellent beef, pork and seafood. The fully stocked deli carries familiar standbys plus items like head cheese that you'd probably only eat on a dare.
