The Scene – There's a crowd all Summer long at this premium ice cream stand, part of an Indiana franchise. Open seasonally with no indoor seating, there are a few tables and benches available, but most people grab their custard and head for the car. During the midday heat, there's not much shade to speak of, and a "high drip factor" sign is posted on the store's windows. – – The Food – Ritter's custard is all made on site: vanilla and chocolate are churned all of the time, and three rotating flavors are posted on the street sign daily. The hand-dipped custard has a…
Best Frozen Custard, PERIOD. LOVE-IT, FROZEN CUSTARD IS THE KING OF FROZEN TREATS!

I've tried many ice cream places in my life and I can honestly say that ice cream is a substitute for frozen custard - not an alternative. I will say this once:
IF YOU HAVE NOT HAD FROZEN CUSTARD BUT LOVE ICE CREAM, PLEASE TRY FROZEN CUSTARD AND FALL IN LOVE!! Frozen custard beats ice cream, hands down. Frozen custard is like watching your favorite movie on a 60" HD Plasma screen.. its just better!
As far as the actual store.. its a very cute place. You are not swarmed with crazy colors and awkward billboards like you are at a Baskin Robbins or a Dairy Queen. It's very humble and very clean. Staff is extremely friendly no matter which Ritters you go to. (I'd be happy too, being surrounded by frozen custard all day, its that good) Thinking about it makes me just want to say stop reading this and go to Ritters now if you can.. and if you can't.. I'm sorry!!
As far as the price, I GLADLY paid about $2.00 for a very large scoop of frozen custard in a wafer cone (you have the option to get up to three scoops but one is really more like 2 scoops at a baskin robbins). A 5 dollar bill buys you two cones and a nice little tip for the staff. How can one complain about the price?
If they were giving out free baskin robbins I would still pay the two bucks for the Ritters.. (which now that I think about it has actually happened before..) and NO I do not work for them! They just have a remarkable product.
All in all Ritters is a great place to get frozen custard. If you have not tried them, I highly recommend you do, you might just find a new favorite place to get ice cr-, frozen custard!!!
- Pros: QUALITY Product, Rich and Creamy! Nice facility as well.
- Cons: Not open 24 hours!!

Ritters is good and if you like old fashioned frozen custard, this is the place. But THEY ARE REAL PROUD OF THEIR FOOD AND THE PRICES REFLECT IT. I have found equal quality for less than half the price not five miles away. I have tried them twice and will not go back. WAY to expensive for what you get.
- Pros: Good frozen custard
- Cons: Prices are very high

This might sound like a broken record, but this place is simply the best. It costs a little more than dairy queen or other soft serve places, and it costs about the same as Graeter's and Johnsons and it costs less than Maggie Moo Moos. I love Ritter's... I wish they didn't close in the winter.
