The Schumacher Gallery is an art-lovers getaway, sequestered on the fourth floor of the Capital University library. Spacious and quiet, you can wander its rooms with little interruption, save a few students shuffling papers or sketching.

The Art
This is one of Columbus' best-kept secrets. The Schumacher has a collection of over 2,500 works of art spanning 2,000 years and it is impressive. Galleries are separated by eras and themes, including a graphics gallery with works by Dali, Picasso, Chagall, Warhol, Gaugin and several other masters. The Ethnic art gallery exhibits works from Haiti, Africa as well as a significant collection of Inuit art. Other galleries display Asian art, contemporary art, works by famous Ohio artists and a collection of pieces from the 16th-19th centuries by masters such as Francisco Goya and Rembrandt van Rijn.
