Big Bird
This store is staggeringly huge (about 120,000 square feet), but broken up into manageable mini-shops. Get all your shopping done in one trip--Giant Eagle has a farmer's market, a cafe, a gourmet cheese shop, a butcher, a bakery, several ethnic grocery sections, a health food store with excellent organic produce and a baby boutique just to name a few. You can even drop off your dry cleaning.
One of Everything
The selection is comprehensive. The 6,200 square foot produce section is positively educational, with exotic fruits and 16 varieties of fresh tomatoes. Ice cream has one very long aisle all to itself. There's a cooler full of kosher food and an olive bar.
What You'll Spend
Prices are average to high, with deep discounts on selected items. Recent specials included salmon for $3.99 per pound and cartons of Breyer's ice cream for $1.99. Search and save.

A friend bought me a rose arrangement and the roses had NO SCENT. Later I was told that they use a poor quality of rose. High quality roses will smell. The roses the grocery store chains use will rarely have a scent.
