Editorial Review for Brio Tuscan Grille – by Terry Ward Libby
The Scene
Brio's interior is all earthy shades of ochre and bright creams, like a Tuscan afternoon. Cushy booths and oversized palms lend some intimacy to this big place, which seats 300 patrons inside and on its outdoor patios.
The Food
The approach is Northern Italian, but it's as much a steak and seafood house as a purveyor of pastas. Meat and fish are seared over an open oak fire that enfuses the food with rich, woody flavors. The rare filet mignon is charred just right on the outside and served atop a thick slice of tomato, fried crisp with a Parmesan crust and a heap of shaved onion rings on the side. The appetizer of roasted clams in an iron skillet is loaded with garlic and oregano. Use the house bread to sop up the rich clam broth.

parking meter 25 cents for 12 min, a hour at a time -did not see any valet on sunday.we got drinks and SPICY SHRIMP PEPERONATA .good start-we never been there before and the waitress was not that helpfull.GORGONZOLA LAMB CHOPS(over cooked)ROASTED CHICKEN & BUTTERNUT SQUASH RISOTTO tast was good.#3--Herb chicken brest with mashed potatoes and carots that were undercooked.(not that good) BISTECCA INSALATA not that good.FIELD GREENS SALAD was better my coffiee was cold the bread was not good or hot it was like sponge.i would not go back a better choice is Robins Italian Cafe 4720 E Main St, whitehall(columbus) it was Butch's Italian Cafe and before that it was Armando still a great family run place: I have family that will only eat there when they are in ohio! portions can be big, and/or they give option of half portions. they also carry the best cheescakes. serving size is huge, better get a to go box or share. thay make there own pasta and the shrimp is to die for. the other 2 people that were with me said olive garden was better than Brio Tuscan Grille hands down.
Pros: no waiting -SPICY SHRIMP PEPERONATA -FIELD GREENS SALAD
Cons: do not look like cook to order-over cooked -under cooked food not Authentic sponge bread.

The food at Brio is pretty good, but I much prefer their sister restaurant Bravo. To add insult to injury, the service is atrocious! I've been told that I'd have a 15 minute wait and ended up waiting over 2 hours! If you do go, make sure to get the espresso gelato. It's one of the only things that makes the trip worthwhile.
Pros: Great gelato
Cons: Terrible service
