Who's slept here? Oh, just Willie Mays, Duke Ellington, Paul Robeson, United Nations Ambassadors and cast members from "Phantom of the Opera.". History A member of the African American Association of Innkeepers and the Professional Innkeepers Corporation, the Henderson House has the distinction of once being owned by former Governor of Ohio and U.S. President, Rutherford B. Hayes.
The Rooms Henderson House has two guest rooms and one Coach House Suite. All are traditionally decorated.
Location The house is an 1873 Georgian farmhouse built in a central city neighborhood of Columbus that is now a low-income, inner-city area. The community is slowly improving, but guests should not expect the surrounding area to be modern or upscale. Visitors will need a car or taxi to sight-see, but the house isn't far from Columbus' downtown theaters and restaurants.
