Filling the Bill: the stadium does, the public doesn't.. Diamond in the Rough?
Hardly. Bill Davis Stadium is a superb facility, with a lush field, ample concessions and unfortunately, way too many good seats. Despite the success of Buckeye baseball in recent years, OSU draws more flies than fans. Attendance at last year's home opener: 989.

Location, Location, Location
There was an excuse for not going to Trautman Field; no one was quite sure where it was. Since Bill Davis is next to the Schott, that hardly applies. The only thing wrong with the site is it's in Ohio. Since the NCAA insists on starting a summer game in February, there are too many times when backside meets (metal) bleacher and frostbite ensues.

The Boys of Spring
Anyone desperate for the thrill of victory should check out Bob Todd's club. Even in an off-season, the Buckeyes were 12-6 at Bill Davis last year. With a more experienced team, the Buckeyes should return to contending form. Even so, Bill Davis will probably remain a hidden gem.
