Columbus >Wildflower Cafe & Catering
best in the city. best breakfast in cbus, hands down. its comfy, has nice, relaxed service with alot of young people. lunch and dinner are great too. would go any time.
Mediocre. This restaurant has awkward poor quality service. The menu is boring, no crime in that but the food is mediocre at best. The portions are very small for the price at this type of establishment. Americana done poorly...sorry but it's not that bad of an idea and has a great convenient location w/ parking. It could be done much better.
Good people, good food.
The Wildflower is exactly what Clintonville needs - a family owned gem, somewhat off the beaten path, with great made from scratch breakfast and daily specials. Tuesday's meatloaf is a must, and the soup du jour is always fantastic. Good salads, great burgers and sandwiches. The desserts are outstanding and always fresh - get the butterscotch pie!
The staff is very friendly, and many of the people have been working there for years. Great place for a lunch break, family dinners, sunday brunch (but get there early, sundays are packed!) Parking is limited, but there are plenty spots on side streets and at the nearby pool, availble durring the fall/winter.
Good food, a little expensive for the size, great desert.. I highly recommend the desert. They make good food. It is a little expensive for the portions, but I feel the subtle tones achieved in the meals balances that out. It is rare to find a mom and pop place like this in Columbus. Refreshing change from the processed mundane cardboard from the chain restaurants, where the food won?t pass safely through the human anatomy. I liked it and I recommend it. My wife liked it, and she is very picky.
Average, but with one exception. Wildflower cafe is a small, mediocre restaurant serving average sandwiches except on Saturday. Saturday's special is fried chicken with (boring) cole slaw, decent mashed potatoes (served for some reason with a buttery sauce), and a rather bad biscuit. The trick here is to get the chicken when it is first made, meaning you will have to wait a bit, but believe me it is worth it. If it is already done, it is alright, but if you get lucky and get it fresh, it is the best fried chicken in town!
Roses!. This is a fun, funky and wonderful place to have breakfast. The service was great, the food delivered fast and hot and good and the coffee was fantastic! What more can you want for such a small price?
Welcome to a darling little flower-filled place that serves breakfast and lunch cooked American and homey..
It used to be difficult to find a breakfast eatery in Columbus that wasn't a greasy spoon or a corporate chain, but Wildflower Cafe has filled that gap in this city's restaurant scene. It's a smidgeon of a place, with maybe 20 tables. It feels light, airy and clean, and the service is relaxed.
The menu is a basic breakfast menu, with sandwiches and hamburgers for lunch and specials that change daily, like pot roast and meatloaf. The food will remind different people of the South, of Mom's home cooking or of Mayberry-style meals. It's hearty, American--and none of this "comfort food with a twist" business. The mashed potatoes are just that, the fried chicken is shameless in its golden crispiness and the cole slaw even has a little sprig of parsley.
Those wild folks at Wildflower remember when, to make chicken salad, you cooked a chicken, chopped it up in little pieces and mixed it with mayonnaise--instead of using canned stuff. If you're a connoisseur of chicken salad, try it here. There are a few places in town that should come here for lessons.
Deliciously Good!. Wonderful service, great food! The coffee is exceptional! The owner is always on sight and makes you feel right at home.
Cheerful Beginnings. Bright comfortable surroundings, small but efficient menu, deliciously prepared food. What else do you need for breakfast?
Mundane and Ordinary. Mundane food reminded me of school cafeteria-type fare with ordinary offerings and very so-so quality. The building is really small so you can hear everyone's conversation in the restaurant. Service was slow and server never did check back with us for more beverages. Prices seemed on the high side considering the apparent controlled-size portions. Overall impression was negative, not a place I'd go back to.
