To heighten the experience, enter the Cafe through the decadent lobby of the historic Great Southern Hotel, where leather upholstery, chandeliers, a high ceiling and ornate decorations suggest the swishing of hoopskirts and the arranging of peacock feathers in the rooms upstairs. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner on most days, the Cafe's food is classic American: crab cakes, Caesar salad, steak and chicken. It also offers an upscale macaroni and cheese, made with penne pasta. Dinner reservations are suggested, especially when there's a show at the Great Southern Theatre.
