Editorial Review for Julienne – by Andrea Rademan
The Scene
This tiny takeout and home-catering service has become a foodie paradise, with an adjacent boutique market stocked with gourmet groceries and fabulous fresh and frozen "cuisine to go." Those who stay for breakfast or lunch dine in the glamorous Old-World cafe or on the sheltered patio.
The Food
A limited menu is served in the cafe, with dozens more items available to go in the market. Think rustic comfort food: hearty, flavorful and unfussy. Carnivores will find salvation in a burger big enough for two--preferably blanketed with bubbling Gruyere cheese and dressed with caramelized onion jam, choice tomato slices and baby greens on an aioli-smeared sesame bun. Vegetarians and fat-watchers can eat quiche without fear--or crust. Instead, spinach is laden with veggies and merely bathed in a dairy mixture. Individual desserts change daily.

i must say, julienne has the best service we've ever experienced at a breakfast spot. i never saw the bottom of my water glass or my coffee cup. the staff is ever present but never hovering, the perfect balance. i ordered the chilaquiles with bacon (my favorite favorite favorite brunch meal and hangover cure, haha) and the first order didn't have bacon like i asked but i ate it anyway cuz it was so good! when we brought it to the attention of our server, he was apologetic, quickly took my plate away, and brought me another chilaquiles with the bacon in it in less than ten minutes. i pretty much ate 2 plates of chilaquiles! the chips were crispy and the topping of sour cream, cheese, and avocado was delish. oh! the rosemary toast was divine, too! we each got a loaf for our moms, plus the strawberry jelly. we went again for breakfast and the fiance got the creme brulee french toast and wow! we couldn't place it at first, but it tasted just like pineapple upside down cake (a good thing!). we should try julienne for lunch sometime, but for now, their brunch hits the spot!
Pros: superb service!
Cons: not open on sundays!

This place is packed all the time but it is definitely one of those restaurants that you have to try. Excellent atmosphere for lunch, relaxing spot and pretty sceneries.
